How to clean sheepskin rug at home

Preserving the beauty and durability of your sheepskin rug is essential. Here are some guidelines to assist you:

Weekly Maintenance: We suggest shaking and brushing your rug outdoors on a weekly basis. This helps remove loose soil and dust, and also revitalizes the wool fibers.

Grooming: Keep the fibers fluffy by using a wire brush to fluff them up.

Spot Cleaning: In the event of spills, prepare a solution of water and regular soap in a 1:10 ratio, and rubbing alcohol in a 5:10 ratio. Apply the solution to the affected area and gently rub it with a cloth. A spray bottle can be handy for this process.

Drying: After cleaning, allow the rug to air dry. Once dry, vacuum, shake, and brush it with a wire brush to restore its fluffiness.

Handling Spills: Immediately blot any liquids with paper towels and remove any solids with a blunt knife or spoon. For oily stains, apply cornstarch to the area to absorb the oil. Alternatively, you can use white chalkboard chalk, then wash it as instructed in the spot cleaning section.

As our product is both sustainable and fully biodegradable, we recommend replacing it when it becomes excessively dirty. This allows you to enjoy a fresh, clean rug while remaining environmentally friendly.
